It’s really tough to write about yourself. I even thought about putting the “online dating profile” that one of my Twitter friends had made for me. But I’m going to do my best to tell y’all about myself without sounding overly conceited.
My name is Rey Moralde but I am called Rey-Rey (or my given real name, Rey) on the regular. I’m mostly known on the internet as a wannabee NBA scribe. I currently write for my site, The No-Look Pass, as well as Forum Blue and Gold, which is the Laker blog of the ESPN TrueHoop Network. I’ve also written for various sites that include SLAM Online and Lakers Nation.
In the past, I also dabbled with anime conventions. I mostly did interactive events for Anime Expo and the now-defunct Ani-Magic, where I hosted their cosplay contests from 2002 through 2004.
I am also trying to venture out to other forms of entertainment. While I am happy doing NBA writing work, I do a pop culture podcast over at Project Shanks. I also hope I can do some video game writing at some point as my initial goal when I was in high school was to write for a video game magazine (or a video game site) for a living.
As for what I do outside of the basketball writing, I have been watching (old) TV shows whether it’s on DVD or on Netflix. I also like to chill with friends, play some basketball (not as of late), play some old-school video games (Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, etc.), and do karaoke. I am known to break into song in real life and online (especially terrible pop songs of the past). It’s quite fun.
Even though it’s mostly an NBA account, I talk about everything on Twitter at @TheNoLookPass. Go and follow me! I won’t bite.
Thanks for stopping by!
